The Donovan McNabb Era is Over in Philly

rumors.jpgI am convinced that Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb will be traded in the off season. His name is invoked the most on sports talk radio and it is obvious the Eagles need to start looking at their QB in the wings Kevin “Babyface” Kolb.

Today I received pretty good information that the Minnesota Vikings have already inquired about a possible trade. But teams aren’t offering a whole lot for the aging QB in Green. The highest I heard was a third-round draft pick and a player.

Ian, at insidetheiggles.com, has been nothing but an Eagles organization mouthpiece, believing the nonsense coming from the front office. Ian has assured his readers that McNabb is coming back. I hate to break this news to him and other Eagles fans: The Donovan McNabb Era is over in Philadelphia.

Anything less than two first rounders would be a rip off to us. If the Vikings has McNabb they’d be above the Cowboys.”

Bad grammar, but the guy might have a point about the Vikings (not about McNabb’s worth). The Vikings organization and the fans have little faith in current QB Tavaris Jackson. I wouldn’t either. He reminds me too much of Quincy Carter, a real difficult time for Cowboys fans. Trades for McNabb really heated up this spring. His name came up quite often, but the trigger wasn’t pulled because the Eagles really expected to compete this year. McNabb hasn’t been the happiest, either. The fans aren’t really grasping him here and here.

So why does McNabb pull a 180 from what he told Pam Oliver two weeks ago? He denied saying to Oliver, a highly respected female reporter, that his days in Philly are numbered. The Eagles fans will be nasty to anyone, as the McNabb man lovers posted sharp criticism of Oliver. They fail to realize that McNabb is going to be traded.

But sometimes, you just have to face reality, Eagles fans. You are in Rebuild mode.
