No Playoffs for the Deadskins, Guaranteed

If Washington Redskins fans are gleeful and giddy because their team plays a divisional foe that has already locked up home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs and might sit most of its best players, think again. You are smoking the wacky tobacco if you think this game is a lock and you’re in the playoffs. In fact, this game Sunday actually has me pretty pumped up. We’ll get to see a few second-team players beat the living hell out of the Deadskins.

The Dallas Cowboys game this Sunday in Washington is critical for many reasons. First, the Cowboys have to start strong, which is going to be very important since some players may not play the entire game. Dallas has had a difficult time coming out of the gates with force this season. Sunday, the team must explode on the Deadskins. Secondly, I would like to see the second-string players come in and shove it down the Deadskins throats. Thirdly, the return of Terry Glenn brings much excitement to the offense. If he looks good in this first game, opposing teams, including the Cheatriots, will be biting their nails. Terrell Owens will be back healthy for the first playoff game, naysayers. Be concerned.

If anyone thinks Dallas is going to sit and roll over to allow the Deadskins into the playoffs, you are INSANE! Nothing of the such is going to occur. Just read the lips of head coach Wade Phillips:

“But we have something to play for. We play to beat the team we’re playing. We play for pride. We play for our fans. We play for family, coaches. Integrity of the game – that I’m going to go out there and play the best I can play and do the best I can to win every game. So that’s the way I’m approaching the game.”

The Cowboys have A LOT to play for Sunday. We have a win to play for Sunday. We have a 14-2 season to play for Sunday. There is no way in hell we are going to allow the nemesis in our division to make it to the playoffs so they can lose in the first round, which we all know the Deadskins will do. Deadskins fans, grow up! You’ve got to get past the Cowboys to make it to the playoffs, and your winning percentage against America’s Team over the past 10 years isn’t that good, is it?

We're on then. If the Skins lose, I'll buy whichever of your shirts you want me to. Not that it will matter because we're winning. Hail skins!

You ought to buy one of the regular landryhat shirts as it is since you come here every day to try and discredit me. Sick bastard.

Weren't you the guy who ran over to riggosrag.com and guaranteed that the Vikings would crush the Redskins? If you're so confident in your team, you could always prove it.  If the skins lose, I'll buy one of your t-shirts and wear it in public (Dave from Riggo's Rag can verify this).  If the cowboys lose, you post an article on this site and to Riggos Rag issuing a  sincere and non-derogatory apology to all Redskins fans and admit that the Redskins are a pretty good team.  C'mon brave man. If you're really so sure about your team, put your money where your mouth is.

I refuse to give the Deadskins credit for this season. You beat us, make the playoffs, and I will eat crow. Until then--and I SAW A LOT OF DEADSKINS GAMES THIS YEAR--I don't have to give credit to a mediocre team playing in a mediocre conference fighting to make the playoffs! I can see why you are giving credit to the Cowboys because the credit is due!!! You need to earn my credit. How dare you come over here demanding I give credit to the Deadskins. Fighting injuries and a death? Uh huh. No comment.

It's funny that you point out our winning percentage in the last ten years.  More recently we've been doing much better. Last year we split and the year before that we swept.  I don't think the cowboys will sit and roll over, but I also don't think Terry Glenn's return is the second coming that you make it out to be.  Brad Johnson might be interested in a little payback against us after the way we dumped him a few years ago and that frightens me more than Glenn.  Still, I can't help but be optimistic after the way we've played the last three games.  Unlike you, I give credit when it's due and your cowboys are a tough team with a great record.  But we're playing through a ton of injuries and a tragic death with a lot of heart and fire.  Give US some credit and stop being a complete homer.
