The Miami Dolphins are horrible. I am not sure bringing in old, crotchety Bill Parcells as general manager is going to help much. Unless, of course, he devours the Dallas Cowboys free agency pool.
Several high-profile players need to be resigned or they’ll be a part of bidding wars. Most notably are running backs Julius Jones and Marion Barber III. Many Dallas Cowboys fans expect JJ will be gone at the end of the year, and not many will shed tears over the loss. But losing restricted free agent Marion Barber could be devastating. As a restricted free agent, Barber could be part of a bidding war between Parcells and the Jones’ family. How uncomfortable would that be?
Flozell Adams, Patrick Crayton, Chris Canty are a few players who could head out. Parcells has a history of taking former players with him wherever he goes: Drew Bledsoe and Curtis Martin are two who come to mind.
His landing in Miami possibly might even open the door for the Cowboys to get the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft, and fans often invoke the name of Arkansas running back Darren McFadden as the perfect fit for Razorback-loving Jerry Jones. That’s no hogwash there, folks. Whom does Parcells want? What the hell is he up to? Not two weeks after he pays off Keyshawn Johnson to tear into Terrell Owens, does he take a GM job with the worst team in the NFL? That’s suspicious.
The Landry Hat will keep a watchful eye on this development. If Parcells even tries to dabble in the Cowboys free agent pool, he better be ready to pay up.
