Terrell Owens Slams Bill Parcells, Again
ESPN showed a short clip this morning of an interview with Terrell Owens in which he softly slams former coach Bill Parcells again. In summary, the question ESPN showed Owens answering was if he was ever offended that Parcells never named Owens by name during pre
ss conferences. It’s a question Owens has been asked numerous times, and he’s answered it consistently each time. Why ESPN continues to ask the innocuous question is beyond me, but that network has been going downhill ever since the stupid Who’s Now episodes and the unethical report that the LSU coach was leaving for Michigan–an error which the network never corrected or apologized for.
Owens said he was never offended that Parcells couldn’t say his name. Harmless answer. But he got a few jabs in. He said the media kept making a buzz about the situation, but it never irritated him. That’s just how Parcells was, he said. I always thought Parcells was just being his old crotchety self.
Personally, I am tired of hearing about the Owens-Parcells garbage. It’s history. Cleanse those hands and move on! New Coach, Same America’s Team! But ESPN can’t do that. ESPN just drags non-controversial issues on and on, because the powers at be think it’s a controversy. ESPN is a sports network that is actually ruining sports. I am so tired of watching it, but no one tries to compete with them for a 24-hour sports network. What bothers me is ESPN can’t think of a more intelligent question to ask. The interviewer can’t discuss the Dallas Cowboys incredible 11-1 start, or Owens rather quiet, yet exceptional season. Why? It’s bad enough ESPN sensationalizes stories that are wrong (LSU to Michigan), but why sensationalize something that’s not a story?
