You Are Who We Thought You Were Dennis Green

As unbelievable as it sounds, Dennis Green is crazier than we all thought. Now an icon for one of the oddest post-game speeches of all time, the infamous “THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE” after the Cardinals blew a huge lead to the Bears, Green has gone off the deep end of a slimy capitalist cliff.

I’m not kidding either when I say he is trying to trademark the infamous quote. You can see the official documents here. The application is active. Green wants to copy the saying on Hats, caps, baseball caps, knitted caps, golf caps, sports jerseys, t-shirts, polo shirts, sport shirts, sweatshirts, golf shirts, sweat bands, sweat pants, jogging pants.” Golf shirts? Jogging pants? Effing sweat bands?

When I saw the Denny Green breakdown, my jaw dropped. I didn’t even understand what he was talking about. I mean, why did he use innuendo? “You wanna crown them, then crown their asses”? We let them off the hook? What the hell is he talking about? “High-performance helicopter?”

What’s next? Jim Mora will want to trademark “Playoffs? Don’t talk about, Playoffs?”

Thanks to PJS for the scoop.

Corey,
Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed your neologism "pisstivity." Dennis Green spoke in anger and wasn't making a whole lot of sense. The question asked of him was they had 4 picks against Grossman, what do you think about the Bears now that you shut them down that way? "The Bears are what we thought they were" was his answer. Now, I didn't know what to make of that comment. Did he mean they thought they were overrated? Great? They stunk? Dennis Green has no right over Words than I do. If he doesn't like being made fun of, maybe he should act a little more professionally in the face of a loss. That's why he's without a job and trying to capitalize on a slogan.

What's so crazy about it? Hell.... Why should everybody get fat from his loins? Especially when the phrase was inititally regurgitated over and over again to deliberately humiliate him via nation-wide newspapers and radio and T.V. broadcasts. More and more power to him. Also; I understood him crystal clearly. Here's a coach in the midst of a post-game conference who was upset to the utmost of pisstivity (made-up). Leading up to the game, the fans and media hyped the Bears up in the same fashion that people are now hyping the Patriots. Consequently, those conniving reporters cunningly articulated their questions accordingly. The man was already seething, as his team had just allowed a winnable game to slip through their clutches. Everybody has experienced a time when they were in a terrible mood and the wrong person set them off at the right time. Hence the infamous slogan; if you would."Crown their asses?" "Let'em off the hook?" What's so hard to decipher here?
